Today Sunday 17th November 2013 is the 4th and the last stage of the ongoing ECOWAS International Cycling Tour that started on Wednesday 13th November 2013 at the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos. The riders have covered four countries so far in a total distance of 374km.

In today's race however, the cyclists are going to take off at 'Aboisso' a small village in Ivory Coast and terminate in the Ivorian commercial capital, Abijan in a distance of 120km.

Therefore at this moment, all the cyclists are taking breakfast and they will soon be facing the unpredictable aggressiveness of the mountain goats.

Anyway, starring at some of the beautiful mountains in Aboisso, it is quite obvious that only the well trained light-weighted cyclists will survive this mountain stage.

Highlight on today’s event: The cyclists from Nigeria, Mali, Benin Republic, Senegal, Ghana and Serial Leone that were on the first bunch all crashed 20km to the finish line giving chance for the cyclists on the second bunch to overtake, which lead to the Burkinabe’s to be on the lead, making the Burkinabe’s to come out with the 1st to 3rd  position in the tour.

No update yet on the unconscious Senegalese cyclist that had a crash earlier.

The cyclists are currently in Togo where Nigerians are in the first bunch; though three of them had flat tires earlier but back to the first bunch with 80km total distance covered.

It is quite unfortunate that a Senegalese had a serious crash and is unconscious at the moment but we hope he will be revived soon. He has since been taken to a medical facility for proper examination.
